Each procedure requires a specific needle to ensure efficiency, speed, and optimal healing. The correct needle choice minimizes trauma to the skin, leading to better-healed results and happier clients.

Whether it is a cartridge needle, a microblading tool or a needle on the bar…no matter the color, size or shape, the needle itself has the same standard needle components. The standard components are the same and do not change from type to type.
Standard Needle Components:
- Size (Diameter): This refers to the thickness of the needle. Smaller diameters are often used for detailed work, while larger diameters cover more area quickly.
- Taper: The taper is the length of the needle’s point. Longer tapers provide smoother, more gradual pigment application, while shorter tapers deposit pigment more quickly and densely.
- Count: This is the number of individual needle points in a configuration. A higher needle count can cover larger areas more efficiently, while a lower count allows for more precision.
- Configuration: The arrangement of the needle points. Common configurations include:
- Round (liners & shaders): Ideal for detailed lining and shading work.
- Magnum (woven & stacked): Used for shading and filling larger areas.
- Flats: Great for creating straight lines and shading.
- Angled: Allows for versatile application in difficult-to-reach areas.
- For microblading tools, configurations include U Shape, Curved Flat/Angle, Flat Shader, and Round/Slope Shader.
